Pub crawl fun, Mr. Cranky cracks a (rare) smile, Neal's long-lost twin, and other grad week follies

The rest of grad week was fun. I didn't go paintballing on Wednesday because it was expensive and I wasn't really interested in going anyway. Turns out many people felt the same way because apparently only 7 people showed up for it. Since there were so few, the grad committee was able to pay for them, so they got to go paintballing for free. I just went to the gym instead. After that, I went to the movie pub and pub crawl. Sara-Sour and Mark went, and Rachel went too but she was on a different colour team. Sara, Mark, and I made our own team for the scavenger hunt and we had fun with that. But I think the funnest part of the evening was when we ended up at JR's. Apparently, JR's is a sleazy place (according to one of my co-workers), but since everyone from the pub crawl basically took over the place that night, the sleazy people probably got intimidated and didn't try to hit on us. Victor from work and Crystal from the gym are bartenders there. Sara and I took so many pictures that night and I got them developped today, they are hilarious!. She and Rachel want my doubles since they didn't bring their cameras.

Last night was the Convocation Ball. I was originally going to wear my long black dress but it was tight on me (I probably gained at least 10 pounds since last year when I bought it), I also tried on my Beezlebub dress (the blue velvet dress I wore when I played Beezlebub in Faustus) and it fit well, but I didn't really feel like wearing it. So I went to Sears and while there, I tried on another black dress (spaghetti straps, long flowy fabric) just for the heck of it, and it fit so perfectly that I had to buy it. It fits better than the ones I already had, the style is more elegant, and while it accentuates my figure, it is also modest and classy-looking. Later at the ball, my friends told me they loved my dress, and Rachel said she bought hers (navy blue strapless) at Sears too! We took lots of pictures that night, and Ryan was nice enough to smile for our "date pictures" though he whined every time someone took out a camera (meh, he's just being himself! :D ). Terence was being his usual goofy self, sticking his gum on his earlobe (yuck!) till he finished eating and putting my grad picture in his jacket pocket. The music was good and dancing was fun, even if we had to practically drag the guys out to the dance floor! And we saw a guy who looked exactly like Neal, except with no facial hair and bad fashion sense (wearing a shirt with a bright green psychedelic print on it). The ball was lots of fun and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Today we had grad rehearsal, the awards ceremony, and the baccalaureate service. Grad rehearsal was ok, and after that I ran into Heather-Jean and Joel. HJ is an old classmate of mine from high school and Joel is her husband (they were high school sweethearts). I didn't win anything at the awards ceremony. The baccalaureate service was nice - it was an interfaith service led by Father Charlie and another priest. The grad ceremony is tomorrow, and I hope it won't be as cold as it was today. It was so cold, we even had snow! Snow in the middle of May... Usually at this time of the year it's so warm that people can wear summer clothes.

Well, that's all for now, next time I write a post, I'll be a university graduate!

Grad week rocks!

Whooo! The dance show rocked! Every performance I did was awesome and it was one of the best dance shows I've been in so far! I prayed before every dance I was in, and it seemed to work - I also asked St. Vitus (patron saint of dance) to pray for me, as well as the saints had are "related" to the groups I dedicated each dance to (for example, for the David Bisbal dance I asked St. James, patron saint of Spain, to pray for me). The modern dance was a little messed up at first, because some of the girls came in late (they had a quick change and our dance started without them), but we managed to save it after they got on stage. Maureen and Tasha came to see the show, and loved it too. Afterwards, we went to Dairy Queen and a lot of people from the show were there too. Whoo for the dance show!

Grad week is on, and it's going good so far. We had the grad Mass on Sunday night and most of my friends were there. Bishop Vernon celebrated it, and Father Charlie helped out too. We had a huge turnout, and it went great. Afterwards, a few of us went to adoration for an hour, then to Dairy Queen for supper.

We went camping last night in Cymbria and because it was cold out, a bunch of us didn't even bother trying to sleep, we just stayed by the campfire all night, chatting, drinking, and roasting marshmellows and sausages. They also had a barbecue going early in the evening. Mark Cameron was there, as well as a few people I knew from class, choir, etc. As the sun was rising, one of the guys decided to make sausages on the barbecue, and since he was drunk and hadn't slept all night, he'd overreact over every little thing. It was funny at first because he was just joking around, but after he told off his friend (who apparently wrecked his tent), we all got sick of it. He was also saying all sorts of disgusting things and making gross jokes. The only reason people thought it was funny is because when you've been up all night drinking, everything seems funny. Now that I think about it (after having slept a few hours this afternoon), it was quite crass. I still had fun though, and after that we went back to town and ate breakfast at the dinning hall on campus. I probably won't crave pork for a while, since I was eating sausage and hot dogs all night. And I ate my first smore at the camping! Smores are yummy.

Tonight we had trivia at the Wave, and my team won! My team was me, Sara-Sour, Sarah Skipper, Mark, and someone else who knows Sara-Sour. Tomorrow afternoon, there's paintball, but I don't think I'll go. It's expensive and most of my friends aren't going anyway. I'll probably go to the gym instead (I got a 3-month membership for the Curves gym recently). But Sara-Sour and I are going to the movie night and pub crawl tomorrow night, and some of the others from our crew might go too. On Thursday, there's the Convocation Ball, and that should be fun. Most of my graduating friends are going, and bringing our non-graduating friends as dates. And I have a date for it! I'm going with Ryan. We're probably going to hang out with the rest of the crew and have fun as a group. Most of the couples are going together (Rachel and Neal, Jason and Steph), but my group of friends and I like to hang out as a big group instead of separating into pairs.

The graduation ceremony is on Saturday afternoon. It's hard to believe that I'm graduating now, sometimes it feels like yesterday I graduated from high school. Other times it seems like HS grad was a long long time ago. Well, it was 5 years ago and the past 5 years have been amazing. I've grown so much since then, and I've had so many experiences that I could never have in high school...
